Inspector Nakamura 2: Antarctica is the sequel to the first game I ever made (which was a project for my self-study Japanese class). Though the original Inspector Nakamura was lovingly done using RPG Maker MV, I'd plan on creating the successor using Unity. The current plan is for it to be my first ever mobile game, and I plan to release it at least on the App Store.
The game itself is a murder mystery where you play as the Inspector. You go on a voyage to a fancy, resort-like base in Antarctica with a variety of CEOs, movie stars, and other bigwigs. Very soon, chaos breaks out as one of the guests is found dead! It is now your job toΒ figure out WHOdunit, WHYtheydunit, and WHATtheydunitwith before the trip is over in 5 days.
The game takes great inspiration from Clue and Murder on the Orient Express, two games that I've played and explored a ton with my father. However, it adds its own twists. Each day is broken up into 5 parts, with 3 collective meals with all the guests and 2 sets of activity periods where you have to pick and choose whose group to join, limiting the people you can interrogate. You will also need to determine which kinds of communication styles work best on which character and maintain some kind of charisma score with each. If, at the end of the 5 days, you incorrectly claim someone to be the murderer, you obviously lose. Moreover, if you don't have iron-clad proof of the item and motive behind the murder, you also do not walk away victorious.
I am super excited about this project, and I can't wait to release it to the world!
